Newgrange

Here in Prefab 6 we have been taking a look at the Winter Solstice. The class have explored the Construction and the Discovery of the ancient tomb that is located at Newgrange, Co. Meath. The tomb was built in celebration to mark the shortest day of the year as these ancient people knew that the evenings would once again start to get longer and that sping and summer were to follow. The boys created some lovely art pieces detailing the fascinating entrance at the tomb and they also created beautiful scenes of this ancient structure.
