Primary Science Fair

youngscientist.jpgOn Saturday 21st January eight boys travelled to Limerick for the RDS Primary Science Fair. Dylan Corcoran, Joe Fogarty, Ben Mc Mullan, Darragh Niegemann, Enda Byard-Shaughnessy, Aaron Twyford and Adam Mc Hale all attended the event. Alex Walsh also attended as part of the group. Ms Cronin and Mr. Bourke were also there. The project started as a whole class project but we continued with it.

Our project was based on “The Role of Science in Sport Footwear”. A lot of research and testing went into this project. We even visited the Run Hub to look at Gait Analysis. We focused on Material Technology and Design for this project. We tested grip, weight, water resistance, bounce back ability and flexibility. Two judges visited our stall. We were also lucky enough to meet radio presenter, George Hook, who took great interest in our project. Later that day, we were presented with a plaque from a judge. We were the only school from Dublin to attend the event in Limerick. We are happy with our feedback on the project and proud of the work we have done.
